GREENVILLE, North Carolina – Despite 22 turnovers and shooting 31 percent from the free-throw line, the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team survived a trip to East Carolina with a 70-67 victory over the Pirates, the Bearcats third straight overtime contest.
After a 73-70 loss last season, UC avoided a second straight road upset to the Pirates and moved into a tie with Houston for first place in the American Athletic Conference standings (17-8, 10-3). The Bearcats have now won seven of their last eight games and keep their chances at an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament alive.
