STORRS, Conn. - The game began noisily, with University of Connecticut basketball fans screaming and waving white towels at the visiting No. 8-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats here at Gampel Pavilion.
UC was so rattled that it jumped to a 13-0 lead. The home team was so poised that it missed its first 10 shots. The Bearcats went on to beat UConn 65-57 on Saturday afternoon, for UC's 14th consecutive victory this season. Attendance was 9,170 in the 10,167-seat arena.
UC (21-2, 10-0 American Athletic Conference) was led by junior guard Jacob Evans III with 19 points. Senior forward Kyle Washington had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
