Cincinnati football and coach Luke Fickell landed a South Georgia recruit on Friday.
Payten Singletary, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end from Thomasville, Georgia, announced his verbal pledge to the Bearcats via Twitter. He reportedly had offers from Akron, Troy, Georgia State and others.
"I am blessed and grateful for all of the offers and recruiting I have experienced, but after through and prayer, I’d like to announce that I am committed to The University of Cincinnati,” Singletary wrote.
UC has 16 commitments in the 2020 class and entered Friday with the second-best haul in the American Athletic Conference 247Sports team rankings behind Memphis.
