David DeJulius scored 18 points and Viktor Lakhin added 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks to lead the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team to a 69-58 win over Cleveland State Thursday night at Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats, who owned a 13-0 advantage in fastbreak points, improved to 13-0 all time against their neighbors from upstate.
After both teams spent the better part of the first half feeling each other out, Cincinnati guard Jeremiah Davenport knocked down a 3-pointer to create some space and give the Bearcats a 22-15 lead inside the 9:00 mark.
The Bearcats committed four turnovers in the final five minutes of the first half.
