University of Cincinnati Bearcats junior center Chris Vogt set the tone on the first possession of the game, getting the ball at the rim and dunking over a University of Connecticut Huskies defender in his way.
After that, the Bearcats kept sending waves of players to the basket on offense, bullying their way to the rim almost every possession.
The Huskies couldn’t stop Cincinnati’s inside scoring, and the Bearcats (8-5, 1-0 AAC) won their conference opener 67-51 win over UConn (9-4, 0-1).
Cincinnati scored 18 of its first 23 points off layups or dunks as the team built a 16-point lead in the first half.
