With 10 seconds left and the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team holding a one-point lead over Temple, freshman guard Mason Madsen caught the inbounds pass, drew a foul and walked 64 feet over to the free throw line.
Before Friday’s game, Madsen had never had the ball in his hands at the end of the game at the college level. Before Friday, Madsen was 0-for-1 from the free throw line wearing a Bearcats jersey.
Madsen took one quick dribble, looked up at the rim and made it. Then he got the ball back, took one more quick dribble and caught the ball and made it again.
