Wednesday's 64-56 loss at No. 18 Ohio State was Cincinnati basketball's earliest season-opener in the 119-year history of the program.
The performance played out exactly like what it was: an early November road matchup against a ranked opponent for coach John Brannen's UC debut.
To their credit, the Bearcats' played tough on defense. But there's a lot to improve on, a takeaway from the opener everybody should have expected going in.
"We now have tape to show that we need to be a little more detailed at practice, a little more attentive to the synergy that it takes to play offensive basketball," Brannen said.
