The #20 Cincinnati Bearcats certainly didn’t look like a top 25 team last night, as they struggled to put Norfolk State away 75-59. UC jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first five minutes, something we should anticipate from this team this season. But then they just sort of… stopped playing offensively. Over the following 15 minutes managed just 19 more points, allowing the Spartans the opportunity to claw their way back into the game.
And I really can’t fault Cincinnati’s defense at that point. You rarely can. They allowed Norfolk State to shoot just 32% from the field and make just one three pointer in the first half, also forcing eight turnovers.
