Cincinnati Bearcats true freshman wing Jacob Evans’ status for the Crosstown Shootout on Saturday is up in the air, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Evans has been an integral part of UC’s rotation this year. Essentially taking over former senior Jermaine Sanders’ role backing up Shaq Thomas, the true freshman provided a spark from perimeter that was missing from either of the veteran’s games. Sanders could certainly hit the three ball but he was only good for a couple of those per game and that was about all he did, other than play solid defense. And while Shaq certainly has an unbelievable outside-in game (when he wants to), he’s never shot particularly well from beyond the arc.
