Cincinnati basketball collapsed again in the final minute on the frontend of an important three-game stretch, losing to Colgate 68-66 Saturday at Fifth Third Arena.
Colgate's Tucker Richardson made a free throw with a second remaining to secure the win after the Bearcats led by five with 90 seconds to play. After Raiders' guard Will Rayman tied the game at 66 with a layup, Bearcats' senior Jarron Cumberland flung a half-court shot attempt with five seconds remaining. Richardson caught the rebound and went to the free-throw line after being fouled by Jaevin Cumberland.
Senior forward Rapolas Ivanauskas led Colgate (8-4) with 21 points — 17 coming in the second half — and nine rebounds.
