It has been more than four months since Louisville police officers used a battering ram to enter the apartment of Breonna Taylor shortly after midnight, fired their weapons and killed the 26-year-old Black emergency room technician.
The date was March 13. But for Cincinnati Bearcats women's basketball coach Michelle Clark-Heard, it feels like yesterday.
Like Taylor, Clark-Heard is a Black woman. Also, Clark-Heard's hometown is Louisville, Kentucky. Her 70-year-old mother, Josephine, still lives there.
"Just growing up there, everybody is always very prideful of their hometown, where they grew up," Clark-Heard told The Enquirer on Thursday.
