NEWPORT, R.I. - Mike Aresco often takes a feisty stand about his league deserving more national respect, and the American Athletic Conference commissioner took that tack again here Tuesday at the conference's annual football media day.
The AAC stands outside the so-called Power Five leagues as a "Group of Five" conference. Yet, the AAC last year began marketing itself as a Power Six league including a logo that says "American POW6R,' with a numeral 6 substituting for the letter 'e.
