Hours before West Virginia's basketball game at Oklahoma State Monday, coach Bob Huggins took time to talk about close friend Chuck Machock.
The two coached together at multiple programs, including when Huggins guided the University of Cincinnati to the 1992 Final Four.
But it was more than that.
"He was who I called when I needed an answer," Huggins said.
Machock, the former UC player, assistant and broadcaster, died Saturday. He was 82.
Huggins said he was still in high school when he first met Machock, who then recruited Huggins to play at West Virginia.
