What’s news to me and probably many of you is that the Big 12 actually has an expansion committee to explore the feasibility and risk/rewards of, you guessed it, expanding beyond ten schools.
You might have read Oklahoma University President David Boren’s comment that the Big 12 “should strive for” expansion beyond the current 10-team setup. Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder recently added his support for expansion.
Well, Gee is on the Big 12’s expansion committee. And get this: There are only three members. When reached via Big 12 Associate Commissioner Bob Burda, Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said those on the “Composition Committee” are Gee, Boren and Baylor University President Ken Starr.
