HARTFORD, Conn. – Once again, the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team will be heading West to play in the NCAA Tournament.
UC coach Mick Cronin is not especially thrilled, but he tried to put the best face on it here Sunday after UC lost 71-56 to SMU in the American Athletic Conference tournament finals.
Officially, UC (29-5) drew a No. 6 South Regional seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcats will play Friday in Sacramento against the winner of the No. 11 seeded play-in game, either Kansas State (20-13) or Wake Forest (19-13).
