The Cincinnati Bearcats are participating in the Cayman Islands Classic in November, 2017, a field that includes the Iowa Hawkeyes, UAB Blazers, and Wyoming Cowboys.
Color me unimpressed with that slate of opponents.
Not to thumb our big ol’ fluffy Bearcat noses at Iowa, as they’ve certainly experienced a resurgence on the hardwood in the last couple of years, going to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments in each, but I expect more high profile opponents in this early season tourneys now. Maybe the Barclays Center Classic this year and Hall-of-Fame Tipoff Classic, in which UC could play the Duke Blue Devils, is skewing my perception of reality.
