After turning things around from a dismal start to the season, Bearcats baseball managed to put together an solid showing in conference play, finishing fourth place in the eight team baseball league. UC is solidly out of the running for any shot at an at-large NCAA bid, so their season now comes down to six days in Clearwater, FL at The American’s conference tournament. The double-elimination tournament will take place at Bright House Networks Field, home of the Class-A Advanced Clearwater Threshers and Spring Training home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Bearcats’ first opponent is the Houston Cougars, who just two weeks ago took two-of-three from the ‘Cats at Marge Schott Stadium, holding UC to just two total runs in the series.
