The Cincinnati Bearcats football team was not supposed to play Army this season.
But after the novel coronavirus pandemic uprooted Cincinnati's 2020 non-conference slate, eliminating three of the Bearcats' four scheduled games, UC went to work, restructuring its schedule.
Cincinnati moved its season opener against Austin Peay from Sept. 3 to Sept. 19, and then added Army to its slate late last month.
"Our guys want to play," UC coach Luke Fickell said Tuesday. "Our guys have prepared a long time. I think it's only right to them. ... You get 12 guaranteed pay days, I say, and those are the games.
