Andy Kennedy, a Cincinnati Bearcats assistant coach from 2001 to 2005 who also bridged the gap as head coach between Bob Huggins and Mick Cronin, agreed to a six-year deal to be the head coach of the UAB Blazers, the team announced and the coach confirmed Friday via Twitter.
UAB fired Robert Ehsan last week after four seasons as head coach. The Blazers finished the 2019-20 season with a 19-13 record.
Kennedy coached at Ole Miss from 2006 to 2018 before joining the SEC Network as a studio analyst.
