A few times during the season, University of Cincinnati Bearcats senior running back Gerrid Doaks has sat in the locker room thinking about where the program stood four years ago.
“The people in my class that came in when (former UC head coach Tommy Tuberville) was here –– those that stayed –– we all just look back,” Doaks said. “(We) think, ‘dang, who would think this is where we would be right now?”
On Saturday, the No. 6 Bearcats (6-0) beat Houston (2-3), 38-10, earning their third consecutive win by 28-or-more points. Soon, the Bearcats will likely move into the top 5 of the national rankings, on the verge of becoming the first Group of 5 team to crash the College Football Playoff.
