Last week, I said it was “about to get real” in the AAC, and sure enough, we have a shake-up atop the standings. The Navy Midshipmen walked into the Liberty Bowl and thrashed Memphis 45-20, closing the game out with a 28-3 run and 21 unanswered points. The huge win vaulted Navy into the polls, meaning that four AAC teams are now ranked. The picture is getting clearer now. Houston hosts Memphis on Saturday night (set your ESPN alerts accordingly so that you can keep current with that score from the bleachers at Nippert), and if Houston can win, it would set up the showdown of showdowns for the West division title.
