'92 Bearcats make local Hall of Fame

The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball 1992 Final Four team will be inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame on Tuesday at Receptions in Fairfield.

The 1991-92 team finished 29-5, winning a share of the Great Midwest Conference regular-season championship and claiming the league's tournament title before making the program's sixth Final Four appearance. The Bearcats were coached by Bob Huggins and led in scoring by forward Herb Jones (18.8 points per game), guard Anthony Buford (15.3) and guard Nick Van Exel (12.3).

The team, celebrating its 25-year anniversary during the 2016-17 season, was recognized at halftime of the UConn home game on Feb.
