James Wiggins, a safety for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats for the past four seasons, was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 16th pick in the seventh round (243rd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Wiggins was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection last season.
Fellow UC safety Darrick Forrest was selected in the fifth round by Washington. Earlier, UC offensive lineman James Hudson III was selected in the fourth round by the Cleveland Browns. Later, Bearcats running back Gerrid Doaks was selected in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins.
