The Chicago White Sox have been fielding inquiries on starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija for quite some time now, with the Toronto Blue Jays standing as the latest team to be connected to the veteran righty.

Samardzija has been dominant in the month of July, pitching seven innings or more in all four starts while posting a sterling 1.71 ERA and 0.76 WHIP.
He is 7-5 overall this season with a 3.91 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 108 strikeouts in 140.1 innings pitched Any deadline deal for Samardzija will be a rental at a pro-rated portion of his $9.8 million salary for 2015. The 30-year-old is set to hit unrestricted free agency this winter.
