With Opening Day just 50 days away, a glimmer of hope shines through this mid-week hump day. As a Sox fan, the start of a new season can be a bittersweet time – a reminder of the past few years’ struggles alongside the promise of a fresh beginning.
Taking a cue from English poet Alexander Pope, I’m embracing hope, even after a disappointing 121-loss season. Maintaining this optimism won’t be easy, but I’ll start small and see where it takes me. Fingers crossed, the team doesn’t extinguish this flickering flame too quickly, like in April, which would be entirely on brand.
