Yoan Moncada is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game as the White Sox begin a four-game series against the Yankees on Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The third baseman left Monday’s game against the Nationals because of upper-back tightness. He said he’s making progress toward a return.
“Much better than the first day,” Moncada said via an interpreter, “but I still feel a soreness.”
Moncada said he could return “maybe Saturday or Sunday.”
He is batting .295 with 12 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Jose Rondon will make his second straight start at third base.
