Third baseman Yoan Moncada and pitcher Jose Ruiz have rejoined the Chicago White Sox, according to a team spokesman.
He improved his average 80 points from 2018, the fourth-best jump in franchise history, while cutting his strikeouts from 217 to 154 and finished third in the American League in average behind teammate Tim Anderson (.335) and the Yankees’ DJ LeMahieu (.327).
When asked Saturday, hitting coach Frank Menechino said he wasn’t sure what the timetable would look like for getting Moncada back in the flow at the plate once he returned. He estimated Moncada could need 10 to 15 at-bats to see where he is and 20 to get started in the right direction.
