Yasmani Grandal left in the sixth inning Monday against the Detroit Tigers with lower back stiffness and missed the final three games of the series.
Grandal went 2-for-5, including hitting a massive 441-foot two-run home run to left-center, and scored twice as the Sox clobbered the Cubs 10-1.
“The fact that I was able to contribute (Friday), it’s always good,” he said. “Once you see your offense going, I don’t really think about it too much just because I’d much rather be behind the plate than on the plate. When you get to hit, it’s always a plus.
