Aptly dubbed the “soundtrack to a South Side summer” by NBC Sports Chicago, Nancy Faust has left a lasting mark on Major League Baseball and the even wider professional sports industry.
It all began more than half-a-century ago when she first took her seat at the organ in the bleachers of Old Comiskey Park.
At that time, musicians — mainly men employed at the ballpark — were responsible for the basic organ fare — “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “Charge,” and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
Nancy, however, saw the White Sox games and her job of entertaining the fans a bit different and knew her work could play a larger role in enhancing the overall fan experience.
