With season on line, Bulls respond like they just wanted it to end

With five minutes left Thursday in the Bulls' season-ending 94-73 loss to the Cavaliers, thousands of fans at the United Center started flocking to the exits.

They should have stayed to boo this team into the offseason.

That's what the Bulls deserved after feebly responding to urgency with lethargy, answering a call for intensity with indifference. The Bulls saved their worst for last. This was such a clunker that, by the second half, every player on the roster wished he was on a minutes limit.

As everyone waited for the Bulls to respond like a so-called typical Tom Thibodeau-coached, overachieving team would, the bitter reality slowly sunk in.
