A bullpen day might be in store for the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday in the finale against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.
“We may mix and match with the off-day Thursday,” La Russa said. “Rather than rush to judgment tonight we’re going to think about it and announce something early enough.”
La Russa said Jonathan Stiever might be called back from Schaumburg to give the Sox innings but wouldn’t say whether he would get the start. They don’t have a traditional long reliever on the roster and sent Zack Burdi to Schaumburg on Tuesday while recalling Alex McRae.
