Chicago viewers didn’t get to see the best White Sox highlight of Sunday’s 7-3 exhibition victory over the Cubs.
The defending American League batting champ was asked during the national telecast, which was blacked out locally, if he was excited about offseason White Sox additions such as Edwin Encarnacion and Yasmani Grandal.
It’s “exciting,” Anderson said. “You guys (have) noticed us. We’re on ESPN. I thought y’all guys forgot about us. … You all are starting to notice now.”
Anderson’s verbal bat flip, delivered with a laugh, no doubt was music to the ears of long-suffering fans of the long-ignored Sox.
