Wisconsin basketball star Frank Kaminsky took batting practice at U.S. Cellular Field before Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, leading someone to joke to Robin Ventura that Kaminsky probably would be hitting in the middle of the White Sox lineup.
Ventura gave a kind of forced smile that read "not funny," though anyone who has watched these Sox knows there was probably a grain of truth to the wisecrack.
The Sox came into Tuesday ranked last in the majors in runs, on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and the funny part is they're still not out of contention in the lamest wild-card race in history.
