A big part of the White Sox’s future was scheduled to return to the field Friday.
Baseball’s No. 1 prospect, second baseman Yoan Moncada, was activated from the disabled list by the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.
Moncada, 21, had been on the seven-day disabled list since May 18 with a left thumb injury. The organization’s minor-league player of the month for April is batting .331 with six home runs, four doubles, 15 RBIs, 27 runs scored and 15 RBIs.
The Knights also announced they traded a ghost of White Sox past, Ryan Raburn, to the Nationals organization.
