Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson had his suspension reduced from six to five games on Thursday after settling with the league before a hearing was needed.
Anderson, who was suspended for his role in a brawl with the Cleveland Guardians on Aug. 5, will begin serving his suspension when the White Sox open a weekend series at the Colorado Rockies on Friday.
The White Sox and Guardians clashed when Cleveland third baseman Jose Ramirez and Anderson squared off near second base after Ramirez slid in safely on a double in the bottom of the sixth inning.
