Finally living up to the hype that accompanied him from the Diamondbacks in the Addison Reed trade in 2013, third baseman/designated hitter Matt Davidson has been one of the better stories for the White Sox in the early going.
But Davidson, hitting .324 with three home runs, was out of the lineup again against tough right-hander Danny Salazar. He is hitting .318 against right-handers, and if the purpose is to rebuild in 2017, why not get Davidson into the lineup?
"It's not so much the matchup," manager Rick Renteria said.
