Chicago will be well represented in the lineups of the July 17 All-Star game in Washington with three starting position players and a starting pitcher.
White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu was voted in as an American League starter, holding onto his lead despite a recent slump, while Cubs catcher Willson Contreras and second baseman Javier Baez earned starting nods for the National League team with late sprints to the finish line.
Cubs ace Jon Lester also was selected in the players vote, giving them three All-Stars on the NL team.
