White Sox win series, lose Matt Davidson

As they do, the White Sox both won and lost Thursday.

They beat the Twins, 6-5, to wrap up their third-straight winning series and improve to 40-39. That’s the good news. But they also lost infielder/designated hitter Matt Davidson to a fracture in his foot running the bases in the fourth after collecting his first White Sox hit in his first White Sox game.

Davidson, who hit eighth as the DH, was just called up for the first time since the Sox traded for him before the 2014 season.

He struck out in his first at-bat and hit an RBI single in the fourth.
