The White Sox minor league system received a small boost on Sunday with the addition of Wilmette, Ill. native Charlie Tilson. Tilson, a graduate of New Trier high school was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals via trade in exchange for left-handed relief pitcher Zach Duke.
Tilson was the 12th ranked prospect in the Cardinals minor league system according to mlbpipeline.com. With the move to the White Sox, Tilson becomes the teams top ranked outfield prospect and their fifth-ranked prospect overall. The White Sox are currently suffering from a lack of outfield depth and the addition of Tilson should help the team’s cause.
