OAKLAND, CALIF. — The Chicago White Sox can advance to the American League Division Series with a win Wednesday against the A’s in Game 2 of the best-of-three first-round series in Oakland, Calif.
Eloy Jimenez again is out of the Sox lineup. The left fielder is recovering from a sprained right foot. He last played Thursday against the Indians in Cleveland.
“He’s still about the same,” Sox manager Rick Renteria said before Wednesday’s game. “The usage for him for us is about the same. Maybe a pinch-hit at-bat. They are still treating him up, trying to see if they can continue to calm down the soreness in that foot.
