The Chicago White Sox transferred reliever Aaron Bummer to the 45-day injured list, one of three roster moves announced before Saturday’s game against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.
The Sox also placed reliever Jace Fry on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Sept. 3) with back spasms and purchased the contract of pitcher Alex McRae from the Schaumburg training facility.
Bummer, who tied for sixth in the American League with 27 holds in 2019, agreed to a five-year, $16 million contract with the Sox during spring training.
Fry has a 3.65 ERA, one hold and 15 strikeouts in 13 appearances this season.
