Continuing a two-year trend, the White Sox sent left-handed reliever Xavier Cedeno to the Brewers in a trade Friday.
The Sox announced they’ll receive outfielder Bryan Connell and right-handed pitcher Johan Dominguez. They will promote right-hander Ian Hamilton from Triple-A Charlotte to take Cedeno’s place on the 25-man roster.
Hamilton, who has a 1.74 ERA and 22 saves in 43 appearances between Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte, is ranked as the team’s No. 16 prospect by MLB Pipeline. He was an 11th-round pick in 2016 from Washington State, where he was the all-time saves leader.
