The Chicago White Sox announced on Wednesday the trade of Joakim Soria and cash considerations to the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee will send back two pitching prospects in exchange for the veteran closer.
Kodi Medeiros, a left-handed pitcher, and the Brewers 13th-ranked prospect and right-hander Wilber Perez will be sent to the Sox in exchange for Soria and cash. With the trade, Soria will join a contending Brewers team that is vying for a postseason berth.
This season with the Sox, Soria posted a 0-3 record with a 2.56 ERA and 16 saves through 38.
