CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz reversed course Tuesday, saying interim manager Grady Sizemore will now be considered for the permanent job.

Previously, Getz indicated he would hire from outside the organization.

He was asked why the change in thinking.

"He's done a very good job from our evaluation," Getz answered. "We feel like he deserved to be in consideration. I can't say he has a leg up on anyone because it is going to be a deep process. He deserves to be in the conversation."

The White Sox are 8-31 since Sizemore took over for Pedro Grifol in early August.
