Yoán Moncada is finally a part of White Sox “Summer Camp.”
But will he be ready to be a part of the White Sox lineup on Opening Day?
Moncada’s status for the July 24 season-opener against the division-rival Minnesota Twins will be the biggest question during the remaining week of camp. He revealed Thursday that he missed the first two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19, and though he reported that he’s feeling healthy — he said his only symptoms were a loss of his senses of smell and taste — the incredibly short window to go from 0 to 60 is what makes his ability to be in Rick Renteria’s Opening Day lineup a bit of a mystery.
