The White Sox completely dominated the BoSox with an 8-0 win. This win gives the ChiSox a 4-3 lead on the season against Boston.
This also means that the White Sox join the Oakland A’s as the only two teams with winning records against the Red Sox in 2018.
This was only the sixth time that the Red Sox were shut out in 2018. Interestingly, the ChiSox are the only team that shutout the BoSox twice this season. The previous shutout was a 1-0 game on June 8 with Dylan Covey pitching against Chris Sale.
