As the 2021 MLB Draft rolls along, teams are desperately searching for upside plays in these early rounds. That’s exactly what the Chicago White Sox did by taking Fraser Ellard in the eighth round.
A fifth-year senior, Fraser Ellard turned himself into an eighth-round pick after a very good 2021 season with the Liberty Flames. In 2021, the 6-foot-4 lefty posted a 3.65 ERA in 44 1/3 innings, with 63 strikeouts to 13 walks and seven saves.
Out of Roswell, Georgia, the White Sox are hoping they’ve found a big left-handed arm for their future bullpen.
