If this year’s version makes it to the World Series, perhaps they’ll be known as the Dead Sox.
After all, everyone, including me, left the Sox for dead after they started out the second half losing five of six to the Royals and Cardinals, falling to 42-50.
But the Sox head into tonight’s game in Boston with a chance to sweep an eight-game road trip, which would pull them back to .500 before returning home for 12 of their next 15 games, starting Friday against the Yankees.
