The White Sox signed veteran starting pitcher Ervin Santana to a minor-league deal, according to a tweet from MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.
The right-handed Santana, 36, has a 149-125 career record with a 4.06 ERA in 14 seasons with the Angels, Royals, Braves and Twins.
He went 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA for the Twins in 2017 and made the American League All-Star team before missing most of 2018 after finger surgery.
If healthy, Santana has a good shot at making the Sox rotation, which has an opening.
