The White Sox added another outfielder to the mix Saturday, signing 28-year-old Preston Tucker to a minor-league deal.
The Sox also made the signing of Ervin Santana to a minor-league deal official.
Tucker has a good glove but has yet to prove he can hit major-league pitching. He’s a career .222 hitter over three seasons with the Astros, Braves and Reds, with a .281 on-base percentage.
The left-handed hitting Tucker split time with the Braves and Reds last year, hitting .229 with six home runs in 97 games.
